River Lymington Trip

On the 15th of May 2012 we went to the River Lymington for our trip. We first went to go and measure the width, length and speed of the river at Whitefield Moor. We used a tape measure  to measure the width and length.

To measure the speed of river, we measured 10m me standing one end of the tape measure and Michael standing the over end of the tape measure. Then we dropped a lolly stick in the river ,and timed how long it took to get to the 10m mark. If it took 3 seconds it would be 3 metres per second.

Balmer Lawn.

At Balmer Lawn we wrote what the part’s of the river were and talked about what would happen in 20 years,  50 years and 100 years. I thought  the river beds would erode and make the river wider
